CCGM at Adria Business Forum 2026

The Croatian Corporate Governance Society (CCGM) was an institutional partner of Adria Business Forum 2026, held on 16 June at the Mozaik Event Center in Zagreb. One of the region’s most significant business events gathered more than 600 participants from the business, academic, and public sectors, including numerous members and representatives of the CCGM leadership.

The Forum’s keynote guest was James A. Robinson, recipient of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics and co-author of the book Why Nations Fail. In a conversation with Dubravko Merlić, he spoke about the importance of high-quality institutions, strong state capacity, and meritocracy as the foundations of long-term development, while also addressing the challenges faced by post-socialist countries, including Croatia.

The Forum program covered a range of current topics related to artificial intelligence, economic competitiveness, energy, and geopolitical changes. Slavko Vidović discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on corporate competitiveness, while Mislav Crnogorac presented the PANTHEON project.

Particular attention was drawn to the panel on artificial intelligence moderated by Martina Silov, featuring Darko Jovišić, Dimitrij Trbović, Mario Volarević, and Matija Žulj. The discussion focused on the concrete effects of artificial intelligence on business operations, organizational transformation, and company development.

Marijan Krpan spoke about the potential of green energy and geothermal resources.

Prior to the second panel, Kristijan Kotarski delivered a presentation on current geopolitical changes and their implications for the global economy, warning of the growing uncertainty of the international environment and emphasizing the importance of adapting business and development strategies to new geopolitical circumstances.

The panel on the competitiveness of Croatian companies featured Ivan Artuković, Gorki Bratim, Nikolina Dizdar Čehulić, and Gordana Kovačević, moderated by Nataša Nater Drvenkar. The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the Croatian economy in the contemporary business environment.

In his presentation, CCGM President Darko Tipurić emphasized the importance of high-quality corporate governance, a predictable regulatory framework, and a system that recognizes knowledge and competencies as key prerequisites for long-term development and strengthening Croatia’s competitiveness.

The Forum concluded with a panel on Croatia’s competitiveness in the international environment, featuring Dalibor Ćubela, Vedrana Pribičević, Velimir Srića, Davor Stern, and Mladen Vedriš.

Adria Business Forum once again confirmed its role as a relevant platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among leading representatives of the business, academic, and professional communities, creating space for discussions on key economic and social issues, as well as future development challenges for Croatia and the region.
