About Us

Croatian Corporate Governance and Management Society (CCGM) is a national association in Croatia exclusively dedicated to promoting the principles and practices of good corporate governance and effective board leadership. CCGM operates as an independent, expert-driven, and non-profit institution, serving as a vital platform for dialogue, education, and the development of governance standards in both the private and public sectors.

Croatian Corporate Governance and Management Society was founded in April of 2025 with the aim to improve corporate governance and management practices in Croatia. The founders – economist Ivo Markotić, Robert Travaš LL.M. and Professor Darko Tipurić, Ph.D – launched this initiative to promote the highest professional standards, encourage peer discusions and exchange of knowledge in corporate governance and management landscape.

At the heart of CCGM’s work lies a strong commitment to integrity and transparency. The society promotes open dialogue, impartiality, and knowledge exchange in all its recommendations and programs. The Society is also dedicated to the promotion of lifelong learning and professional excellence recognizing the importance of continuous development in a changing business environment.

Ultimately, CCGM seeks to influence the development of a trust-based and forward-looking business environment, one that is built on prudence, long-term value creation, and a deep sense of responsibility toward society and future generations. Its mission is not only to improve the quality of governance but also to strengthen public confidence in corporate leadership as a foundation of sustainable economic development.

CCGM’s activities are designed to systematically impact the entire corporate governance system – at the institutional, national, and international levels. The society acts as a catalyst for dialogue, reform, and innovation in corporate governance, relying on academic knowledge, regulatory engagement, and practical experience.

CCGM Activities

Contribution to National Governance Reforms

CCGM actively participates in shaping the regulatory and policy environment in Croatia. By providing expert input to legislative processes, developing position papers, and collaborating with government bodies, the Society contributes to the design and implementation of modern governance frameworks that reflect best international practices and local relevance.

Organization of High-Level Conferences, Roundtables, and Seminars

The Society regularly organizes events that convene leading academics, policymakers, business leaders, and governance professionals. These gatherings provide platforms for addressing emerging trends, debating strategic challenges, and sharing innovative practices in corporate governance and management.

Development of Research Publications, Benchmarking Reports, and Governance Indices

Through its research initiatives, CCGM produces high-quality publications that inform practice and policy. This includes empirical studies, comparative analyses, sectoral assessments, and the development of governance indices that benchmark performance and promote accountability among enterprises and institutions.

Engagement with International Organizations and Participation in European Governance Dialogues

As part of its international outlook, CCGM collaborates with governance institutes, academic networks, and policy forums across Europe and beyond. This ensures that Croatian perspectives are represented in wider debates and that global insights are integrated into national practice.

Director Education Programs

CCGM provides targeted education and training programs for board members, senior executives, and aspiring leaders. These programs emphasize core principles such as competence, ethical leadership, responsibility, and long-term value creation, supporting the professionalization of governance roles across sectors.
